C4 Logistics have once again achieved accreditation from the International Air Transport Association (IATA.)
The IATA represents the world’s major airlines, maintaining global standards for airline safety, security, efficiency and sustainability. To achieve IATA accreditation, companies must demonstrate a high level of competency in all areas of air transportation.
C4 France’s Clement Menard completed a comprehensive training course covering air shipment specifics including the transportation of dangerous goods. Clement demonstrated an exceptionally high standard of industry knowledge and successfully completed several assessment tasks to obtain his IATA diploma.
Country Manager for C4 France, Benoit Kermarrec, explains: “achieving accreditation with the IATA is essential to operations at C4. It is a requirement for all air shipment providers to meet the IATA standard to be able to access the 275 major airlines it represents. IATA accreditation is also fantastic evidence that the operations staff at C4 Logistics have the necessary expertise to meet all our customers’ air shipment needs.”

At C4 Logistics we know that sometimes road transportation simply isn’t fast enough. We employ a dedicated C4 Air department specialising in express air transportation.
The team at C4 Air were recently contacted by a valued customer needing to ship several boxes of automotive parts to prevent a line stoppage at their factory. Regular road transport was not rapid enough to prevent the extremely costly line stoppage. Most time-critical freight providers would simply say that the job cannot be done, but not the team at C4 Air!
Committed to helping the customer and utilising all their specialist knowledge, the team at C4 Air were able to source a helicopter charter. The helicopter was available within the hour and the complete transport took less than 3hrs door-to-door. After experiencing the massive benefits of helicopter transport the customer has since booked several more, choosing this service over other options available.
Speaking about the new helicopter transports, C4 Air manager Ghislain Darroux said: “Helicopter charters are a relatively new service being offered by C4 Air. We introduced these to complement our already established range of air transportation options and our customers think they are brilliant addition. In this current economic climate there is an increasing need for ultra-fast transportations, especially within the automotive industry. Helicopter charters are an excellent choice as they are extremely rapid to source and can often land directly at the factory. They offer excellent value for money and we are finding more and more of our customers are opting for this service over regular road transport.”

C4 Logistics are well known for their reputation as outstanding freight forwarders of time critical road shipments. However, unlike most of our competitors, C4 Logistics also boast an operations centre specialising in air transportation – C4 Air.
C4 Air recently coordinated a particularly challenging shipment of three large sheets of aluminium from France to the USA. Weighing in excess of 6000Kg, the unusually heavy shipment was limited in the type of aircraft in which it could travel. The customer urgently needed the shipment to be delivered from door to door within the week.
The operations team at C4 Air began by sourcing an arctic vehicle to collect the cargo from its departure point in France, for onward transportation to Liege airport in Belgium. A direct flight was then organised upon a specialised aircraft from Liege airport to Atlanta, USA. This was followed by onward transport by arctic vehicle for completion of the journey and final delivery to Boeing.
C4 Air team leader Ghislain Darroux said: “At C4 Air we are committed to providing the best quality service for our customers at the most competitive price. We frequently win repeat contracts because our team of air experts take the initiative to source the most appropriate air transport solutions. Our customers’ shipments are always delivered rapidly and always for the lowest possible price, regardless of the complexity of the request. For multi-transport shipments such as this, our customers appreciate the consistency and cost saving that comes from C4 Logistics organising and implementing each individual element. This is why C4’s door to door service remains so popular.”

At C4 Logistics we know that time critical shipments do not always occur on scheduled working days. So, what happens when our customers find themselves needing an urgent delivery during a national holiday? C4 Logistics will find a way to deliver.
The Easter period always brings challenges for time critical freight providers. Road and air availabilities are reduced to weekend schedules and many regular carriers are unavailable. Other time critical providers operate a skeleton staff over the Easter period and cannot accept new jobs. C4 Logistics maintains a full operations team during all national holidays, ensuring our customers are always fully supported.
During the Easter bank holiday, C4 Logistics UK were contacted by a customer requiring a shipment via artic vehicle from Ornoy in France to Kenitra in Morocco. This was an especially challenging shipment to coordinate for the operations staff at C4 Logistics UK. The customer required door to door collection and delivery, road transportation via an arctic trailer, import and export customs clearance and a sea crossing to Tangiers. All elements of the transport had to be perfectly coordinated to ensure a seamless transition of the cargo from one country to another. Operations staff initially arranged for the sea crossing before sourcing an available arctic in France to collect the shipment and transport it to the port. Custom’s clearance was arranged in advance for both the import and export through one of our dedicated customs agents. Once the cargo had cleared customs it travelled seamlessly on to Kenitra without any delay. The customer was kept updated on the location and progress of the shipment through our innovative C4SightTM tracking software.
At C4 Logistics our level of service and customer care is never affected by national holidays. We are committed to providing the same level of exceptional service, regardless of the complexity of the request, 24/7, 365 days of the year.

C4 UK are proud to have achieved ISO accreditation for the 14th year running!
ISO 9001-2015 is the international standard for quality management systems (QMS.) A government-recognised certification, ISO specifies the requirements companies must meet with their QMS to achieve international accreditation.
During a rigorous inspection, an independent awarding body assessed C4 UK’s QMS procedures against multiple industry standards. C4 UK were required to provide evidence of adherence to standards for risk management, service quality, carrier selection and ongoing staff training and monitoring. Implementation of the quality standards was found to be excellent in all areas.
When asked to explain the significance of the award, UK country manager Adam Carter said: “Achievement of this certification proves that C4 UK consistently provide services that meet customer and regulatory requirements. The award is a recognition of our robust processes for ensuring consistently high-quality service, ongoing staff training and continuing business development.”
Adam went on to explain further: “It is supremely important for C4 UK to meet the standards required for the ISO 9001-2015. We know that we operate within a competitive marketplace, this accreditation gives our current and prospective customers the peace of mind that they will always receive the best quality service from C4 Logistics.”

Any disruption to manufacturing can leave companies facing delays to their scheduled supply chain. In-house transport plans do not have the flexibility to absorb set-backs caused by unscheduled line-stoppages. This can have a knock-on effect throughout the onward supply chain and become costly to our customers.
Prior to Christmas, during their busiest production period, a valued customer of C4 UK began to suffer line stoppages caused by mechanical breakdowns. All production lines were functioning at maximum capacity and supply chains were already stretched to the limit. The repeated failure of essential machinery lead to multiple line stoppages. Many essential orders were not completed in time for onward delivery by the company’s in-house transportation.
Thankfully, C4 Logistics could be relied upon to provide emergency shipping solutions within 15minutes of customer contact. Operations staff in the UK provided numerous last-minute transport solutions to ensure the line stoppages had the minimal impact on the onward supply chain. Over 300 vans were sourced for the customer over a 6-week period. Many were required for loading within the hour and a large proportion during the night and at the weekend.
C4 UK maintained flexibility to adapt to the demands of the customer every time. Regardless of the volume of work, C4 Logistics always provide the best possible solution and at the most competitive price. Rapidly sourcing just-in-time transportation solutions to minimise the impact on our customers, 24hrs a day, 7 days a week.
C4 Logistics are proud to represent customers from across the globe, offering time-critical transport solutions to over 160 countries. Building long term partnerships with our customers is paramount to delivering premium customer service and care. Our operations staff work tirelessly to fully understand our customers’ needs, providing the perfect bespoke just-in-time transport solutions.
Effective communications are essential in ensuring accuracy and transparency during a shipment. One of the challenges faced by operations staff when serving customers world-wide, is maintaining effective lines of communication regardless of the language spoken. To ensure our customers’ requirements are never lost in translation, C4 Logistics employs over 70 multi-lingual staff across our Europe-wide operations facilities.
Targeting the language skills of the operations staff to the customers they serve is of paramount importance. As an example, C4 France serve an extensive network of customers from across neighbouring Italy. In order to forge strong bonds with our Italian customers, operations staff based at C4 France are fluent in both French and Italian.
Each individual C4 operations centre is equipped with staff fluent in the local languages of the customers served by the office. The removal of a potential language barrier increases the accuracy and quality of the services that can be provided. Another great reason why customers continue to return to C4 Logistics for all their time-critical needs.

Coordinating multiple-transport shipments can be both complicated and time consuming. At C4 Logistics we know that our customers’ time is valuable, therefore we offer a bespoke door-to-door service to take the stress out of shipping.
C4 UK recently provided an excellent example of a door-to-door service. Operations staff were contacted by a customer requiring an urgent hand-carry service for a high value package. The package was to be shipped from the USA to the UK, making it a complex multi-component transit. Collection, air transportation, customs clearance and final delivery all needed to be coordinated individually by operations staff.
C4 UK initially contracted a dedicated courier to collect the parcel from York in the USA. The courier accompanied the parcel to Philadelphia International airport and onto the plane as hand-carry luggage. During transit to London Heathrow, an appointed customs officer was organised to meet the courier at the terminal upon arrival. The officer provided the necessary paperwork, ensuring a rapid transition through customs. Once cleared of customs, the shipment was passed to a second contracted driver who was immediately dispatched to complete the shipment to Pickering in the UK.
The complete shipment took less than 24hrs with seamless transitions. Regular updates from the C4Sight app provided the customer with extra peace of mind, allowing them to track their package throughout the transit.
At C4 Logistics we can offer the whole package from collection to delivery, regardless of the complexity of the transit. When a shipment requires a multi-stage operation, our highly skilled staff will organise each component of the journey to ensure seamless transportation.

At C4 Logistics we know that shipping requirements can be complicated. Many other transport companies will opt for the default option, passing the cost on to their customers. At C4 we promote flexibility, always sourcing the best possible solution for the most competitive price. Our operations staff have the expertise to tailor bespoke transport solutions to our clients, without incurring unreasonable costs.
This was demonstrated recently when the team at C4 Hungary were commissioned to transport a single large pallet into Germany. To ensure the rate was kept as low as possible, a part-load option was sourced and booked on a scheduled vehicle departing later that evening. However, immediately prior to loading, the customer’s requirements altered unexpectedly. A second large pallet was identified, requiring shipment to the same destination but from a different collection point. The addition of the second pallet exceeded the weight limit of the contracted vehicle, leaving the team with no other option than to source an alternative solution.
The default option was to simply contract a second dedicated vehicle for the additional pallet; however, this would have incurred a large cost increase to the customer. Remaining dedicated to keeping the cost as low as possible, the team at C4 Hungary swiftly sourced a replacement solution. An alternative part load option on a subsequent scheduled vehicle was found, large enough for both pallets and at a significantly lower cost. The delivery was completed successfully and for the most competitive rate.
Our commitment to providing value for money, premium customer service and flexibility keeps our customers coming back to C4. To find out more about our services and how we can support your business visit: www.c4logistics.com
