Covid-19 Update November 2020

November 2020 has been a month of contrast for supply chain logistics. The disruption of increased travel restrictions worldwide and a return to lock down in several European countries, followed by the fantastic news of a potential vaccine by the end of the year! News of a vaccine has already fueled an increase in manufacturing confidence, but meanwhile we still need to navigate the difficulties caused by the current restrictions.

At C4 Logistics we have evolved our working practices to guarantee the premium level of service our customers expect. Below are the most common obstacles currently faced by logistics companies and how we have adapted our working processes:

Local lockdowns/Closure of a local office:

Our Transport Management Systems have been updated to facilitate remote working if necessary. We have invested in an Aircall system which allows seamless transfer of calls to our employees when working remotely and centralized our operations to ensure consistency in level of service. More than 85% of C4 employees are bi/multilingual so we can always communicate effectively with our customers in their preferred language, even in the event of office closures.

Changes to travel restrictions

Our operations team are constantly monitoring travel restrictions worldwide and updating our Transport Management Systems to reflect the current guidance. Updates to our in-house software, C4 SightTM, allows us to source the best transport routes using real-time data. We can also create multiple contingency plans, giving our customers a rapid response and complete peace of mind. Carrier availability is updated throughout the day to ensure that changes to planned transports can be implemented immediately and there will be no delay to transports.

Whatever challenges the second half of November may bring, we can reassure our customers that C4 Logistics are ready and here to keep your supply chain moving!
