Excellent feedback about our new website
|

In a bid to provide easier access to information and services from C4 Logistics a new website was launched in January 2008. After speaking to numerous customers the feedback is that our newlook is excellent!!
The site provides details of all our delivery and collection services as well as providing access to on-line track and trace facilities, live traffic reports and other useful resources. Visit the new site here.

The London Low Emission Zone
|
It’s here and what does it mean?
Intended to reduce pollution from within 610 square miles of London, the LEZ will operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If your vehicle is registered and doesn’t match the emission standards it will cost you £200 per day, if you are not registered and fail the emission requirement the fine will be £1,000.
All vehicles over 12 tonnes and have a Euro 3 engine are allowed into this sector of London without paying. Euro 3 are generally vehicles registered after 1st of October 2001.
Lorries between 3.5 and 12 tonnes will be included from 7th July 2008, with large vans between 1.2 and 3.5 tonnes following on 4th October 2010

Our aim is to offer football coaching (with FA qualified coaches) to children to ensure they reach their own potential in a safe, well managed club. Children have the opportunity to play football at a standard that befits their ability in a welcoming and friendly environment, providing healthy exercise, football tuition and all the lessons and benefits that stem from being part of a team.
We are delighted that C4 has kindly offered to support our new under 7s Kenilworth Wardens team through sponsorship of a fantastic new football strip. The 28 children have all been provided with matching shirt, shorts and socks in C4 corporate colours. The shirts have the C4 logo emblazoned on the front, and are very distinctive. The children have bonded with each other and really feel part of the broader team. A squad shirt and team photo can be seen on display in the reception area of C4’s Coventry offices.
The coaches, children and club members would like to thank the Directors of C4 for their sponsorship. It is a very generous offer and helps enormously in supporting the opportunities we offer to the children. Thank you.

Shaken, not Stirred - the sequel

 C4 Logistics services were called upon yet again by the most secret of agents. A swift collection of ten Recaro seats, destined for the proto type stores within Aston Martin at Gaydon, ensured that James Bond had something to sit on whilst saving the world.

Language barrier is costing dear
|
A leading newspaper reported recently;
“One in four firms has lost business contracts because their staff cannot speak a foreign language. A survey of more than 500 UK companies found that one in ten had to pay to have documents translated because no one in their organisation had the necessary language skills.”
C4 Logistics have trained multi-lingual personnel ready to assist for every logistical problem. The languages spoken by our team are English, German, French, Spanish, Polish and one very proud employee who speaks Welsh!

Biofuel fears are “scare mongering”
|
A recent report by MPs stated that “bio fuels are not as green as we all thought” has been dismissed as scaremongering by the bio fuel industry.
The Environmental Audit Committee said the drive to produce more bio fuel is producing widespread deforestation and increasing food prices as more land is used to grow bio fuel crops. This has undoubtedly occurred as a result of a rush in some countries to compete with the scale of fossil fuel production, but not in the UK. It appears there is a lack of understanding of the structure and activity of the industry by MPs and this has resulted in some producers dismissing them as scare mongers. One Gloucestershire based company explained that most bio fuel in the UK is made using sustainable sourced vegetable oils – often rape or sunflower seed oil from the catering industry.
Although C4 is monitoring the bio fuel industry we still have a considerable spend for normal diesel. Recently C4 were part of a lobbying campaign to try to halt the treasury from increasing duty by 2p per litre in April. A recent reply from Angela Eagle MP (acting Minister responsible) said;
“Whilst we recognise C4’s concerns, it is important to realise that by 2010 the main fuel duty rates will still remain 11% lower in real terms than they were in 1999.The duty changes announced through to 2009-10 are expected to result in savings of 0.7 million tonnes of carbon dioxide a year by 2010-11.”.
